Six Flags Coupons 2012 and Free Hurricane Harbor Discounts

My girlfriend and I went to the Six Flags theme park on Saturday and, lo and behold, I realized when we got there she’d bought the two of us season passes to Six Flags.

Besides signaling to me that she plans on keeping me around at least for another few months, I couldn’t help but notice the many excellent coupons you get when you buy a season pass (which works at most Six Flags theme parks and Hurricane Harbor water parks across the country).

You might think people with no credit card or bad credit might not be able to afford a season pass to a theme park, but this really is one of the best deals in town. When you consider the average price of admission is $40 to $50 and that a season pass is $108, you get a whole year’s entertainment for the price of what 2 or 2.5 days of entertainment would normally cost. When you consider the outrageous price of watching an 3D in HD movie at the theater these days ($13 in North Texas, probably more elsewhere), taking yourself girlfriend to watch movies all year is going to cost a lot more.

Six Flags Theme Park Coupons

Six Flags Can Be Expensive for a Family, So Coupons Are Essential for Moms and Dads..

I know what you’re thinking: Six Flags is a warm weather entertainment. I noticed from the calendar at the back of the booklet that Six Flags is opened every single month of the year. You might not see as many days or as long of hours in November, December, and January, but the gates are opened.

That’s 100 bucks for a full year of fun. What’s really impressive is the discounts and savings in their coupon booklet wipes out the cost of admission, if you spend anything on your memories at the theme park. Let’s get into the details.

Everyday Six Flags Pass Savings

When you flash your season pass, you get instant savings on every day purchases at Six Flags. You’ll get 15% off any retail, craft, or photo purchases when you flash your pass when making any purchase of $10 or more. You get a free Six Flags Bugs Bunny logo layyard with any purchase of $5.00 or more. You might wonder what the heck a “lanyard” is, but this is a rope or cord made to fit around a neck and carry things. This one has a Bugs Bunny logo on it. You might have noticed the Looney Tunes characters and DC Comics characters are everywhere at Six Flags.

Finally, if you buy the featured “Patriotic Shirt” and flash your pass, you get the t-shirt for only $6. All three of these deals are savings you get any day of the year.

Six Flags Mother’s Day Coupon

On Mother’s Day this year (May 13, 2012), you get a “Bring-a-Friend Free” coupon which allows you to bring along one of your buddies for free. This is Sunday, May 13, 2012, a Mother’s Day. Maybe you can even bring your mom along, especially if she spotted you some money to afford the season pass. Even if not, if you and your boyfriend or girlfriend have season passes, you’ll be able to bring along another couple for free.

Let’s explore bringing Mom along again. There’s a coupon for a 50% meal basket for Mom if you buy a meal basket and show your season pass. So it’s buy one, get the second one half-off for mom on Mother’s Day. Even if you don’t get around to using these coupons this year, Six Flags often carries over coupon ideas from one year to the next, so I bet you’ll see a Mother’s Day Coupon for Sunday May 12, 2013 for a free admission–just my guess.

Six Flags Father’s Day Coupon

The “Bring-a-Friend Free” on Father’s Day 2012 also gets its own coupon. A buy one meal basket and get a 50% dad’s meal coupon is found next to the bring-a-friend discount. Both these coupons are available for Sunday June 17, 2012, and I bet you’ll find something similar when June 16, 2013 rolls around and you’re trying to think of something nice to do for Father’s Day. By the way, none of these coupons specifically stipulate your parents have to be the recipients, so keep that in mind.

Six Flags Labor Day Coupon Specials

The Labor Day Weekend coupons are especially good at Six Flags. In this case, the clip-out “Bring-a-Friend Free” coupon applies either to Saturday, September 1 or Sunday, September 2 on Labor Day Weekend. Also, you get a second coupne for 25% off purchases of ten dollars or more.

Bring-A-Friend Free Season Pass Appreciation Weekend

Six Flags Great Adventure

The “Bring-a-Friend” Program Is a Perennial Favorite with Six Flags Customers.

Amazingly enough, you get yet another Bring-a-Friend Free coupon for one of two Season Pass Appreciation Weekends found throughout the year. On March 24 or March 25 (2012), you can present this coupon to get a friend or loved one into the theme park free of charge.

Also, on September 9, September 15, September 16, or September 23, you’ll be able to get the same bargain. Of course, you’ll only be able to use this promotional coupon once–it’s not a printable coupon or coupon code you can print off and use each date.

Still, you get four times throughout the year that you get your buddies into the park for free. That’s worth a good $150 to $200 right there.

But as they say in those Ginsu commercials, that’s not all. You get a 5th “Bring A Friend Free” coupon, which applies to any weekday in June on the following dates: June 4, June 5, June 6, June 7, June 8, June 11, June 12, June 13, June 14, June 15, June 18, June 19, June 20, June 21, or June 22. This coupon only works once and note there are weekdays in June the coupon doesn’t apply, but that’s one of fifteen different days throughout the year you’ll be able to present this coupon to get a member of your entourage into Six Flags.

Six Flags Food Coupons

Next to these last two coupon deals I mentioned, you get two other food coupons. The first is one final meal basket deal for 50% off the second meal basket at participating food locations in the Six Flags park. The second is $1 off a souvenir popcorn bucket.

  • $5 Off the Famous Strips Family Meal Deal Combo includes Coke (2 of these coupons)
  • $1 Off the Souvenir Popcorn Bucket

More Six Flags Bring a Friend Coupons

Besides the free admission BringaFriend coupons, you’ll also get a number of discount coupons. I should mention that you don’t necessarily have to buy two season passes for you and your girlfriend (or boyfriend). You could buy on season pass, get your significant other into the theme park for free 5 times, then get special discounts any number of other times throughout the spring, summer, and fall. Or you and a friend could go in halfsies on a season pass and then use the free coupons to enjoy Six Flags together 5-10 times at cut-rate prices.

Let me point out that only one person can own a season pass. You get your picture id and everything, so you can’t pass the season pass around to your circle of friends. If you’re caught letting someone else use your pass, you lose your season pass (with no refund) and could be prosecuted. But you and your buddy could get a pass and still enjoy many days of fun using the Bring-a-Buddy coupons. Here is the list of discount coupons on the Bring a Friend program at Six Flags.

  • Bring-a-Friend for $19.99 – Easter Sunday April 8, 2012
  • Bring-a-Friend for $19.99 – Independence Day Weekend July 3 or July 4, 2012
  • Bring-a-Friend for $19.99 – Memorial Day Monday or May 28, 2012
  • Bring-a-Friend for $19.99 – Select Weekends in September – Sept 8, 9, 15, 16

Hurricane Harbor Coupons 2012 – SixFlags Season Pass Tickets

Six Flags Locations Map

Six Flags Operates 18 Theme Parks and Water Parks in North America. This Map Shows the Theme Parks.

I mentioned earlier that the Six Flags season pass coupon booklet also has Hurricane Harbor coupons in it. That’s because the official title is “Six Flags Hurricane Harbor“–the theme park and the water park are owned by the same company. In Arlington, Texas (where I attended), Hurricane Harbor is just across the highway from Six Flags.

The first of these coupons is a Hurricane Harbor ticket coupon for only $9.99 admission on their September Special (any day in September 2012).

The second is a Hurricane Harbor $21.99 ticket admission coupons for any Monday through Friday during the long period between June 1, 2012 and August 24, 2012. This coupon is not valid on Saturdays or Sundays. Also remember that these tickets are the cover price plus applicable tax, so the final cost is going to be a little more than the coupon cost.

I also received a Six Flags Hurricane Harbor coupon booklet with 23 different Hurricane Harbor coupons in it. These includes similar Bring-a-Friend coupons for price-off, including one free admission coupon. Many are meal deals, but others include photo specials, a Caribbean Swing coupons (buy one, get one free), and the requisite food coupons for jumbo pretzels, famous strips, meal baskets, and the funnel cake supreme. As always, you’ll need to present your Hurricane Harbor (SixFlags) season pass to activate these good deals. I might write a separate page for Hurricane Harbor coupons (or add to this later), so you’ll know exactly what you’re getting.

I’m guessing that SixFlags either partners with or owns another attraction: Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium in Grand Prairie, Texas. If you’re not familiar with Grand Prairie or Arlington, these are two cities which are sandwiched between Dallas and Fort Worth in the DFW Metroplex. For instance, my girlfriend and I met to eat at a restaurant in Grand Prairie and left there to attend SixFlags, which was a 5-10 minute trip away. I’ve heard good things about Ripley’s Believe It or Not Odditorium (“four attractions under one roof”, they say), but I imagine it’s only for people in the D/FW area. The discount lets people save up to $12 on a visit.

SixFlags Save the Date! Exclusive Ride Times

Season Pass Holders also get 3 exclusives dates in June when they get exclusive ride times when they show their SixFlags Over Texas season pass. These dates are June 8, June 15, and June 22 2012.

Six Flags Facebook Page

Finally, the coupon book ends with the suggestion that people should go to the Six Flags over Texas Facebook page to receive the giveaways, park information, and to join exclusive contests for more prizes.

Free 2012 Six Flags Coupons

By the way, I thanked my lovely girlfriend for the season tickets, at least after making a smart-alec comment about her being my sugar mamma. I feel the need to mention, as a hard-working man who doesn’t want to freeload off of anyone (especially my woman), that though I don’t mind the occasional gift, I sure wish my gf would consult me about these things beforehand. Needless to say, I’ll be paying for everything else in the foreseeable future.
